Eclipse PDT wird aktuell nicht mehr in gebündelter Form angeboten. Auf der Eclipse Download Page steht dazu ein Hinweis, dass es derzeit keinen Maintainer dafür gibt. Stattdessen wird die Installation über den Software Manager empfohlen. Diese Art der Installation ist sehr einfach und deswegen erläutere ich sie hier kurz.



Zuerst müsst ihr euch ein "normales" Eclipse installieren. Zum aktuellen Zeitpunkt ist Eclipse Indigo aktuell. Auf der Downloadpage habe ich mich für "Eclipse Classic" entschieden.
Diese enthält die Eclipse Platform, die Java Development Tools und das Plug-in Development Environment.

Nach dem Download entpackt ihr die Dateien. Auf meinem Unix System entpacke ich Softwarepakete wie Eclipse immer unter /opt
Anschließend startet Eclipse.

Help -> Install New Software.
Wählt den aktuellen Eclipse Release aus (z.B. Indigo). Falls er nicht in der Liste ist, dann tragt ihn ein: http://download.eclipse.org/releases/indigo
Wählt in der Liste "PHP Development Tools" aus.
Achtet darauf, dass "Make sure 'Contact all update sites..." aktiviert ist.

If you would like to install PDT into your Eclipse installtion you can do so by using the Install New Software feature from the Help Menu and installing the PHP Development Tools (PDT) SDK Feature from the Eclipse Indigo Repo
