Das soziale Netzwerk Facebook wird das interne Nachrichtensystem der Plattform ausbauen und kann künftig verschiedene Kanäle bündeln, darunter E-Mail, SMS oder Chat. Die Nachrichten aus verschiedenen Quellen und von unterschiedlichen Geräten werden auf Facebook zu einer zusammenhängenden Konversation konsolidiert.
Interessanterweise nutzt Facebook dazu nicht das eigene NoSQL System Cassandra, sondern setzt stattdessen auf HBase.
